Katey Learns Gun Safety

Katey and her Aunt Melanie decided to take a gun safety course recently. In Minnesota and many other states, a gun safety course is required before you are allowed to hunt. As firm supporters of our 2nd Amendment rights and in responsible hunting, it was logical for us to get Katey engaged in a course such as this. To not do so would be...uncivilized! As you can see, Katey is a natural when it comes to handling firearms. Melanie needed the course for her elk hunting trip this fall to Colorado. I'm sure she will post with all the details after she returns.

Katey receiving instructions about the use of a shotgun. Let me guess...keep the butt of the shotgun tight to the shoulder? Yeah...you learn that one pretty quick after a few rounds!

Katey sighting down the barrel of a 30-06. She is one mean, yellow, shooting machine!

Melanie shooting in the general direction of some sporting clays. Check out the textbook posturing and follow through! And the bright orange hat!

That was so fun! I don't know about the textbook posture because I don't think I even hit one clay but oh well! I can't seem to get the keep-both-eyes-open thing down. It was fun to do though...in spite of getting out done by a bunch of 12 year old little boys!
